Contract scrolls

There is a contract board (a lectern) at spawn. Right-click it and you get a sealed scroll with another player's name on it. Walk it to them and you get paid. They open it, find a task inside, do the task, get a reward — and get the next sealed scroll to carry to someone else. Nobody has to play. Declining costs nothing.

Carrying a scroll

  1. Pick up. Right-click the board at spawn. The scroll shows who it is for, the meeting spot (coordinates), your pay and how long you have. The meeting spot is where that player was standing when the scroll was made.
  2. Walk there. Your compass points at the meeting spot and a bar above your hotbar says how far and which way, for example ➜ 340 blocks north-east · Mia · 1 h 20 min. No /tpa, /home, /warp, /spawn or /back while you carry it. Boats, horses, minecarts, portals, pearls and gliding are all fine.
  3. Hand it over. When you are within 16 blocks of the spot the bar says You're here! Right-click the player. You are paid on the spot: 3 to 12 levels and 5 to 20 Chronicle XP depending on the length of the trip, more if it crossed into another dimension.
  4. Nobody there? Right-click the ground at the spot to leave the scroll for them. You are still paid in full. They have 24 hours to stand there and run /contracts collect.

You have two hours to deliver, plus an hour for every 2,000 blocks. If you leave the scroll in a chest, on the ground or in a death chest for more than ten minutes, it goes back to the board and you are not paid. After 30 minutes anyone who qualifies can accept it at the meeting spot, so a delivery never dies because one person logged off. Paid deliveries are capped at ten a day; after that you can still carry, it just pays nothing.

Getting a scroll

  1. Someone hands you a sealed scroll (or you collect one they left). It opens. Hover over it to read the task and the exact reward.
  2. Right-click to sign. Don't want it? Right-click the board with it instead and it goes back into the pool. An unsigned scroll expires after 24 hours.
  3. Do the task. The scroll's name counts up as you go (Contract: Fish 12 cod (7/12)). You have days, not minutes: 3 days for an easy task, up to 7 for a hard one.
  4. Hand in. Right-click the scroll when it says Done! (or hand it in at the board). You get the reward, and a new sealed scroll for someone else lands in your hand. If nobody qualifies right now, the board keeps it.

Seal colours

The wax on the seal tells you how hard the task inside is. The task itself stays hidden until it is delivered.
